The Drain of Daily Decisions

How often are you making the same decisions over and over?

Deciding whether or not to:

Stop at Starbuck on the way to work.

Fold the laundry as soon as it's done.

Get up and work out or hit the snooze button.

Respond to email, Slack, etc. messages right away or only at certain times.

You're making decisions all day long, many of them on repeat day to day or throughout the day. Which results in decision fatigue and a drain on your energy.

Your open Centers in Human Design tell you where you take on energy from others.

Because you're taking on that outside energy it can overwhelm you or make you feel unbalanced or uncertain in those areas.

To counteract that and avoid spending time on the same topics again and again, you need to make the decision once and then have a plan to follow through.

So the drain of daily decisions doesn't take your focus from what you actually want to be spending time on.

First take a day or two for awareness. Pay attention to what pulls your focus or what decisions you keep revisiting or changing.

Make a list of those things and then make firm decisions for each one. For example, decide that you're only going to check messages first thing in the morning, mid-day and before you leave work.

As a side note, for decisions you make regularly but don't always have the same answer like cooking, take out or going out or what to do for exercise, I really like the free app Tiny Decisions. You put your options in a wheel and then spin. I use it to decide my workouts most days.

Then once the decision is made, create a plan to follow through. Such as turning off notifications in between your designated times to check messages. Or committing to doing what the Tiny Decisions wheel says.

And finally have a reminder or pep talk ready to go for when you feel the urge to redecide. It can be simple and straightforward like, "I've already decided when I'll check my messages." or "I'm not going to drain my energy focusing on something I've already decided."

As your coach I can help you understand where you're susceptible to outside energy, how it impacts you and how to stay grounded in your own energy. All of the coaching, strategies, tools and support you'll get from me will be based on your specific Human Design so it's unique to you and your needs and goals.

Let's get started. Schedule a consult so we can talk about working together.

During the consult we'll talk about what you're looking for and what's missing. I'll lay out a process to help you get there. And then we'll decide if we want to move forward. Either way, you'll get info about your chart and some strategies you can implement right away.
