Intuition vs. Fear
I had a conversation with a client last week about how to tell the difference between intuition and fear.
My client is working towards a goal she's excited about. But in order to achieve the goal she has to complete an online course and she's having trouble sitting down and getting it done.
She asked if the resistance to doing the course was actually her intuition telling her not to go for the goal.
It's a great question.
Listening to your intuition is powerful and something I help my clients tap into. But listening to your intuition doesn't mean you won't feel fear or procrastinate on some of the steps necessary to achieve your goal.
Intuition guides your overall direction, not necessarily each step along the way.
Following your intuition doesn't change the way your brain works. Your brain is always looking for the path of least resistance. It's always going to try to talk you out of doing new things.
You may be all in on where your intuition is leading you, but it's still not going to feel fun to do the tedious tasks necessary to get there. And that's okay.
Part of following your intuition is trusting it. Even when it’s scary, hard or no fun.
