Using Your Dark Side

What do you do when you're feeling negative?


Most people either dwell on them in a defeated way or try to push them aside and pretend they aren't there.


But I want to invite you to look at your negative and uncomfortable emotions as an opportunity for growth.

Each Human Design type has an emotion that indicates you aren't aligned with your optimal strategy.

Manifestors feel anger when they think they're being held back or slowed down.


Generators feel frustration when they think what they're doing is pointless or lacks a challenge.


Manifesting Generators feel frustration and anger when they believe they are confined or stuck.


Projectors feel bitterness when they believe they aren't valued and recognized.


Reflectors feel disappointment when others aren't meeting their expectations.


Of course you experience the full range of human emotions, but you may notice these show up stronger or more frequently.


These emotions are indicators that you need to evaluate what you're doing and make a decision.

But you can't do that until you've accepted how you're feeling and why. So start there.


Start by acknowledging and naming the feeling. And then ask yourself why you're feeling that way. There may be one reason or a longer list.


Then look at those reasons and ask what the emotion is trying to teach you in each situation.


For example, if you're feeling frustrated at work because what you're doing feels blah and pointless it could indicate that it's time to...

ask for a promotion that brings more challenge and responsibility.

start looking for a new job that feels more purposeful and aligned.

seek something outside of work that fills the void.


Because the discomfort is an indicator that something is off and change is needed to get back into alignment.
