When my clients tell me they want to feel better, generally what they mean is that they're looking for emotional balance.
Because the truth is, you don't actually want to feel good or positive all of the time.
Sometimes we choose to feel angry or frustrated or hurt. And that's okay. What we want to avoid is feeling bad unnecessarily.
Our Solar Plexus determines how we experience and respond to emotions. About half of us have the Solar Plexus defined in our Human Design chart and about half of us have it open.
If your Solar Plexus is open it will be white on your chart. You are likely very attuned to other people's energy and have a lot of empathy for how others are feeling. This can be a gift because you are able to read others very clearly and respond appropriately.
But it can also make it hard for you to regulate your own emotions. If you ever feel out of control dramatic, it's likely because you are picking up the feelings of people around you and reacting to it. As a result, you may try to avoid getting into that emotional state by people pleasing and fearing conflict.
When you feel your emotions rising, take a break from the people around you.
I know this may not always be possible, but when it is, having that distance can help you identify any emotions you are actually feeling instead of just what you're picking up from others.
If your Solar Plexus is defined you drive the energy of everyone around you. If you're happy so is everyone else. And vice versa. You likely experience your emotions in waves. These may be small ripples or major tsunami waves depending on what else is going on in your chart.
Start paying attention to the ups and downs of your emotions so you know what the waves feel like for you.
When your Solar Plexus is defined, you feel the pull to make spontaneous decisions when emotions are high. But you often regret them later. Paying attention to and understanding your emotional ups and downs will help you make balanced decisions instead of reactionary ones. Learn what a full body yes and a full body no feels like for you.
Whether your Solar Plexus is open or defined, take time to acknowledge and investigate your emotions. When you notice you're feeling anxious or worried or crabby or some other negative emotion, pause. Then ask yourself, "why am I feeling this way?" Then start to unpeel the onion layers of thoughts in your head creating those feelings.
Once you know why you're feeling that way, decide if that's how you want to feel. Most of the time the answer will probably be no. Determine how you'd like to feel instead and then figure out what you would need to believe in order to feel that way.
Often just acknowledging and investigating your feelings can help you let go of negative emotions and find better balance.
